It was fantastic to be recognised at the NCE Tunnelling Awards last night for our innovative shaft solution at Thames Tideway Carnwath Road for Balfour Beatty / Morgan Sindall Infrastructure / BAM JV on behalf of Tideway London!
NCE had this to say when presenting our award for Innovation in Shaft Design and Construction, “The Judging Panel had been hugely impressed by Hewson’s entry as it demonstrates a high degree of innovation and an ambitious use of precast concrete in a confined and congested environment and the integration of temporary and permanent works. The entry describes a solution that is not just effective but is also in tune with society’s sustainability aims and the application of digital technology to improve health and safety and reduce cost and programme. The entry also evidences how this approach can be scaled up and applied to other type of projects.”
