Services: Preliminary design, detailed design

A grade separated interchange was required at Meragang, Brunei Darussalam to alleviate congestion at the Meragang School junction on the Muara-Tutong Highway. This was done by carrying the highway over the junction, construction of a twin deck, seven span, post tensioned concrete box girder flyover. Both decks are formed from a concrete box girder, constructed from segments cast in-situ using the balanced cantilever method.
We provided detailed design for the flyover, of all foundations, substructures and the superstructure. This included development of the construction methodology using the balanced cantilever method to minimise the impact on the existing junction. A post-tensioned tendon arrangement was developed to meet the loading requirements of the flyover both in service and during construction.
