NEOM Trojena Mobility Structures

Client: Surbana Jurong

Location:  Saudi Arabia

Year completed:  2024

Services: concept design, preliminary design

Part of NEOM’s regional plan, Trojena is a mountain top destination located 50km from the Gulf of Aqaba in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The wider development is a 1400km² resort containing residential, leisure and retail facilities surrounding a vast man-made lake.

We are providing concept and preliminary design for mobility structures in the WER8 section of the development.  This includes design of a 500m cut and cover tunnel, two arched highway bridges, multiple stormwater culvert structures and sections of retaining structures adjacent to the highway.

The structures were developed to provide necessary infrastructure around the lake perimeter, responding to complex highway geometry and integrating into the mountainside to minimise scarring and visual impact on the natural surroundings.

Structural BIM models were federated and coordinated with other disciplines and in accordance with the wider NEOM standards.
