Major milestones passed at Waterloo

The ambitious Wessex Capacity Upgrade works at London Waterloo railway station continue to progress on site, with major milestones achieved in the past few months.

Most notably, temporary opening of four renovated platforms in the former International Terminal allowed works to progress during the August possession. These included the significant tasks of modifying and lengthening platforms one to four, at the other side of the station (shown above).

We have assisted contractor Skanska with a variety of temporary works designs and checks. These have included: temporary ties restraining the iconic arched roof above the former International Terminal; facilitation of new stairs and access routes; and design of temporary works to facilitate mobile cranes and other plant on both sides of the station.
