We are delighted that the Cross Bay Link opened on 11th December 2022 significantly benefiting the connectivity and development of the eastern Hong Kong region.

Over the last four years, it has been a great privilege for our HK office to participate in this iconic government project as the main contractor’s bridge design consultant.

The extensive implementation of modern DfMA solutions to maximise off-site prefabrication and precasting has proven that major marine crossings can be built in a quicker and more sustainable way.

On this project, the majority of the bridge elements above water level were prefabricated in large-size units, which then enabled faster and safer on-site construction delivering a wide range of benefits for all stakeholders.

We recently joined the project completion celebration with our client and other partners, to reflect on the memorable moments of this remarkable journey and look ahead to the next opportunity for advancing modern methods of bridge construction.
