High Speed Site Visit

A group of our graduates and students visited the HS2 site near Curzon Street in Birmingham last week.  They were there to see progress on the project and to get experience of a major construction site.  Hosted by engineers from the Balfour Beatty / Vinci contracting joint venture, they were given a tour of the post-tensioned concrete and steel bridges that are currently under construction.

We are committed to providing opportunities for our young engineers to undertake site visits and longer placements so that they get a good understanding of the practical aspects of construction.  We think that this makes them better designers.  Our thanks to BBV for organising such an inspiring site visit.
