We were appointed by HS Carlsteel to provide design services for the proposed Energy-form-Waste (EfW) plant in Derby, UK. The designs included a detailed design of the support steelwork including the connection designs, the production of arrangement, detailed fabrication drawings for M&E support structures, water tank support brackets and access stairs & platforms. We also represented the principal client, Interserve, regards to all the design issues relating to the steelwork.

Close liaison with the fabricator was essential as all the steelwork required pre-fabrication in modules within the tight confines of the plant which already had significant M&E plant installed. Connection design was complicated as framing onto existing steelwork was required, this necessitated careful allocation of design responsibility.
