For the metro system in the state of Dubai, we provided detailed design and erection engineering of a 42km post-tensioned viaduct deck. The decks were mainly simply supported girders erected using several gantries on a span-by-span basis. In addition to the simply supported spans, a number of two-span continuous deck structures were designed for the station and the crossover areas.

We also undertook a value engineering exercise to optimise the quantities and buildability of the deck units giving high repeatability over the project.

Our involvement continued with the Dubai Metro with their Green Line where we led the design of some special span arrangements.
