We detailed designed and aided in the erection engineering of 42km of post tensioned viaduct deck for the new metro system in the state of Dubai. A decision to use precast segmental deck units minimised the disruption to the surrounding environment while achieving a rapid and efficient erection.

We worked with the contractor to develop the erection techniques and the temporary works design to optimise the construction. Our work included checking the permanent structure for all the temporary works arrangements adopted.  In addition, a value engineering exercise was undertaken to optimise the quantities and buildability of the deck units given the high repeatability over the project.
