We were appointed by Matière to prepare Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for three precast concrete twin arch cut and cover tunnels as part of their subcontract on section C2 and C3 within Phase 1 of HS2: at Chipping Warden (2,510m in length), Greatworth (2,730m in length) and Wendover (1,405m in length).

The documents we prepared include the methods for cast in situ base slabs, precast unit installation and emergency door opening units, within the central wall of the twin tunnel

We were also appointed to undertake temporary works design of bespoke prefabricated steel shutters and temporary works platform required for the construction of the section of tunnel where a combination of precast and cast in-situ elements are envisaged for the emergency door openings.
