The Jurong Region Line (JRL) is a new 24km MRT line planned to develop the existing rail transport network in Singapore. The JRL will be served by the Tengah Depot, with the two connected by a viaduct and approach structure.

The 112m 5-span viaduct consists of an RC voided slab supported integrally by its intermediate piers and bearing support at the abutment. All piers are founded on bored pile groups.

The 151m approach structure consists of three separate sections: an elevated structure, with the insitu RC deck slab supported integrally on columns, and the ground and raised slabs, where the insitu RC deck slab is directly supported by bored piles.

We were appointed by WSP to complete the detailed design of these two structures, including the track-structure interaction analysis for this section of the contract.
