We were involved in the “Expansion of Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works Phase 1 and Village Sewerage in Tong To” project and were appointed by the JV to undertake the foundation and superstructure design for the Temporary Sewage Treatment Plant (TSTP) as well as major temporary works design including the ELS for bulk excavation and marine cofferdam for dredging.
The design we carried out include the foundations formed by a large pile group using pre-bored steel H-piles, superstructure consisting of RC frames supporting the plant and equipment of the TSTP and RC structures for the inlet pumping station and sludge holding tank. The design also includes a 15m tall access tower comprising staircase, floor landings, columns and will be founded on a pad footing.
The ELS for bulk excavation is approximately 70m long x 50m wide x 16m deep. The marine cofferdam is 60m long x 20m wide x 10m deep.
