Tsueng Kwan O Southern Footbridge features a 100m main span arch with asymmetrical hanger configuration and double-curved deck. It spans across the Eastern Channel to provide enhanced pedestrian linkage for the TKO area.

We were appointed by the main contractor as their designer to provide both the design and erection engineering services.  We undertook the detailed design for the foundations of the arch bridge and the associated access ramps which are connected to the coastal footpath.  In addition we provided the full erection engineering services for the steel arch bridge and side spans, covering their entire off-site assembly, marine transportation and on-site lift-in erection process.

Our services on the project also included the creation of a ‘Digital Twin’  using BIM to simulate the construction method and sequence as well as carrying out clash analysis.
