Tideway shortlisted for BIM awards

We are delighted that our work to redesign the upper shaft structures at Carnwath Road on Tideway West has been shortlisted in the 2023 UK Tekla Awards.  We have delivered this project in full level 2 BIM including steelwork and reinforcement detailing.

The value engineering redesign is based on a “kit of parts” comprising large composite structural steel and concrete transfer trusses weighing up to 100T along with precast beams and slabs.  This method will allow the concrete upper floor and roof of the shaft to be constructed without the need for any falsework or support from below.  Delivery of the design in BIM has allowed us to integrate our design with the rest of the shaft and undertake clash checking to ensure fit up of the precast and prefabricated elements.
