The Luton DART railway scheme was opened yesterday, 7th December 2022, by His Majesty the King from the Hewson designed Terminal Station.  Working with our architect colleagues at RPS Group we undertook the detailed design of the two stations at either ends of the 2.3km long cable pulled light rail scheme that connects the mainline Luton Parkway station with the Airport Terminal.

Terminal station is a 200m long underground box that includes both the platform area and a back of house train maintenance facility.   Parkway station is a two level above ground station with direct links to the adjacent Network Rail platforms. 

Director responsible for our design on the scheme, Richard Scantlebury, said “It is great to see the recognition of His Majesty for this hugely significant new rail link at Luton Airport.  Our design team worked very closely together to deliver station designs that are carefully considered and efficient.”
